Job summary

University of Michigan's Michigan Medicine in Ann Arbor is seeking a Phlebotomist to draw and prepare blood for testing across ambulatory clinics, hospitals and labs. You will perform venipuncture, finger pricks or heel sticks as needed and ensure proper specimen handling for transport to the central lab.

Required: high school diploma and phlebotomy certification or coursework; strong customer service and basic computer skills; teamwork ability and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience is necessary.
• Demonstrated customer service skills.
• Phlebotomy Certification or equivalent coursework.
• Demonstrated experience working in a team environment.
• Proficient in basic computer functions.

Responsibilities

• Draw and prepare blood for medical testing, transfusions or donations.
• Collect blood via venipuncture, finger pricks, or heel sticks (newborn).
• Handle specimens according to test specifications and transport to central lab.
• Use MiChart and Soft to monitor order requests.
• Provide professional, respectful service to internal and external customers.
• Collaborate effectively with others to achieve goals.
• Maintain a safe work environment per policies.
