Job summary

Software Placement Group is seeking a Phlebotomist for a contract assignment across the greater Charleston, SC area. This float role supports multiple clinical locations and emphasizes accurate specimen collection and patient care. You will perform venipuncture, label and process specimens, and ensure proper transport and documentation.

Travel to Mt. Pleasant, West Ashley, Goose Creek, Summerville, and Walterboro is required; mileage reimbursement and benefits may apply.

Qualifications

  • Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state of employment, as required.
  • Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience
  • Pediatric and geriatric experience required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Clean driving record and reliable transportation
  • Ability to travel to and cover multiple clinic locations

Responsibilities

  • Perform blood draws via venipuncture using straight needles and/or butterfly needles
  • Collect, label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens according to established procedures
  • Explain the venipuncture and specimen collection process clearly and courteously to patients
  • Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes and verify all test requisitions against scripts for 100% accuracy
  • Package and store specimens at required temperatures, following protocols to maintain specimen integrity during transport
  • Update patient information and record maintenance and decontamination data
  • Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations and attend annual department trainings
  • Answer telephone calls and relay laboratory results to satisfy inquiries
  • Travel to and work across multiple locations including Mt. Pleasant, West Ashley, Goose Creek, Summerville, and Walterboro, SC

Overview
