Job summary

Coosa Valley Medical Center in Sylacauga, AL is seeking a laboratory professional to join our patient-focused team. You will review requisitions, collect venous specimens, and ensure proper labeling and transport to the lab for analysis.

Responsibilities include performing routine lab tests and related duties, with weekend shifts on a 9am–5:30pm schedule. We offer day-one health and dental insurance, flexible scheduling, and competitive pay.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent; able to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• One year experience in a related role required.

• Performs laboratory testing and related support duties as required.
• Weekends will alternate with shifts being 9am-5:30pm.

Qualifications For The Job...

• High school education or equivalent required. Must be able to read, write and perform simple arithmetic calculations at a level acquired through a high school education. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Must be able to read, write and perform simple arithmetic calculations to perform functions of job such as patient identification, determine weight and vital signs, etc.
• One year experience required.
• Interpersonal skills required to interact effectively with patients, visitors and hospital personnel. Require knowledge of basic patient care methods, procedures and techniques.
