Phlebotomist

Pondview, Castleton, NY

Work Schedule

Monday–Friday 7:30 am – 4:30 pm, alternating Saturdays 7:00 am – 12:00 pm

Job Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, etc.
• Enter patient information accurately and timely.
• Process billing information and collect payments as necessary.
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis.
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
• Provide superior customer service to all patients.
• Perform administrative and clerical duties as required.
• Travel to additional sites when needed.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy certification or completion of an accredited training program, or at least three months of experience as a phlebotomist.

Preferred Qualifications

• At least one year of phlebotomy experience.

Additional Job Standards

• Phlebotomy certification from an accredited agency required if work experience is lacking.
• Proven track record of exceptional customer service.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision.
• Reliable transportation.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
• Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test.

Pay Range

$17.75 – $20.00 per hour.

Incentive Plan

Phlebotomists may be eligible for the PST Incentive Plan, which awards a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics.

Benefits

Employees regularly scheduled for 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, STD/LTD, 401(k), paid time off (PTO) or flexible time off (FTO), tuition reimbursement, and an employee stock purchase plan. Employees scheduled for less than 20 hours, as well as casual, intern, and temporary employees, are eligible to participate only in the 401(k) plan. Employees on a 7 on/7 off schedule receive all benefits except PTO or FTO.
