Job Summary: The phlebotomy function is based on the operational hours of all APS practices. The role may require travel to offsite locations to perform specimen collections.

Responsibilities:

1. Draw blood tests from patients as per physician orders.
2. Enter physician orders into the laboratory system to produce requisite labels for specimens.
3. Order supplies for required testing.
4. Ensure that blood samples are sent to the laboratory as per schedule to ensure sample viability.
5. Communicate with medical providers to clarify orders when needed.

Qualifications/Requirements:

1. Experience: One-year phlebotomy experience preferred.
2. Education: High school graduate or equivalent.
3. Licenses / Certifications: Completion of a phlebotomy program/course or on-the-job training in phlebotomy with a minimum of three years' experience. ASCP accreditation/certification highly desirable.

Other:

• Special Requirements: Clerical experience desirable.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and computer data entry experience strongly preferred.
