Job summary

Labcorp in Joshua, TX is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our team. Work schedule: Monday–Friday 7:00am to 4:00pm with potential overtime and occasional Saturdays.

Responsibilities include venipuncture and capillary collections for all ages, data entry, specimen processing, and delivering exceptional patient service. Requirements: High school diploma; 1+ year phlebotomy experience or certification; color vision screening; ability to travel to additional sites.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ years phlebotomy experience in clinical/hospital setting preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification or accredited training program preferred.

• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information accurately and timely.
• Process billing information and collect payments when required.
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis.
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
• Provide superior customer service to all patients.
• Travel to additional sites when needed.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups

• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis

• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary
• Travel to additional sites when needed

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 or more years' phlebotomy experience working in a clinical / hospital environment
• Current or prior LabCorp experience

Additional Job Standards

• In lieu of work experience, a phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
• Able to work in a fast paced / high volume work environment
• Exceptional customer service
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision
