Job summary

Labcorp in Corbin, KY is seeking a Phlebotomist to perform venipuncture and specimen collection for diverse patient groups. You will maintain accurate data entry, process billing and support testing workflows.

The role emphasizes high-quality customer service, independence, and the ability to work across sites as needed. A high school diploma or GED is required with preferred phlebotomy experience and color vision testing clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection for all ages.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, and alcohol tests.
• Enter patient data accurately and timely in the system.
• Process billing information and collect payments as needed.
• Prepare specimens for testing and maintain logs of patient and specimen data.
• Provide excellent customer service to patients.
• Travel to additional sites as needed.

Work Schedule:

Monday - Friday 9:30am - 6:30pm

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
• Process billing information and collect payments as necessary
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs
• Provide superior customer service to all patients
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary
• Travel to additional sites when needed

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent
• 1 year or more of phlebotomy experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2 years or more of phlebotomy experience in an outpatient lab environment

Additional Job Standards:

• In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency
• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision
• Reliable transportation
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
