Job summary

Barrett Hospital & HealthCare invites applications for a Phlebotomist to join our Laboratory team. The Phlebotomist performs phlebotomy, specimen processing, computer accessioning, informs patients on proper specimen collection techniques and other duties related to specimen collection, provides results distribution and assists with patient flow.

Successful candidates should have a passion for customer service excellence, work well in a team environment and enjoy working with the public.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent required.
• Previous experience and/or training in proper phlebotomy techniques preferred.
• Consideration for on-the-job training experience is available to successful candidates seeking a fulfilling career in healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy and specimen collection.
• Process specimens and perform computer accessioning.
• Inform patients on proper specimen collection techniques and ensure accurate labeling and handling.
• Distribute results and assist with patient flow and care coordination.
