Job summary

Stoughton Health is seeking a Phlebotomist/Lab Assistant on a Per‑Diem basis to join our Laboratory. The role involves collecting, preparing, and distributing clinical specimens, performing essential lab testing, and maintaining records.

Travel to off‑site locations may be required, and use of a personal or company vehicle could be needed. The candidate should have a high school diploma (phlebotomy program preferred), valid Wisconsin license, current BLS, and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• High school graduate required; phlebotomy program preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to perform phlebotomies.
• Valid Wisconsin driver’s license.
• Current BLS certification.
• One year of related lab/medical experience preferred.
• Reliable transportation with proof of auto insurance.
• Basic computer competency: email, EHR, MS Office.

Stoughton Health has an excellent opportunity for a Phlebotomist/Lab Assistant to join our Laboratory on a Per‑Diem basis. The role involves collection, preparation, and distribution of clinical specimens, performing essential laboratory testing, managing specimen records, and providing clerical support to ensure efficient laboratory operation. The candidate will demonstrate professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast‑paced medical environment, traveling to off‑site locations as needed and possibly using a personal vehicle or company vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Collect, prepare, and distribute clinical specimens.
• Perform phlebotomies and essential laboratory testing.
• Maintain specimen records and laboratory documentation.
• Provide clerical support to ensure efficient laboratory operations.
• Access internal websites, electronic health records, and online learning tools for continuing education.

Requirements

• High school graduate (required); preferred: graduate of a phlebotomy program.
• Demonstrated ability to perform phlebotomies.
• Valid Wisconsin driver’s license.
• Current BLS certification.
• One year of related experience in a laboratory, medical hospital, or nursing home preferred.
• Reliable transportation with proof of current auto insurance.
• Basic computer competency: email, internal websites, EHR, Microsoft Office (opening documents, basic formatting).

Schedule

Per‑Diem/Occasional scheduled days, variable. Working hours: 5:00 am – 1:30 pm as needed to cover open shifts, vacation days, and illnesses.
