Vitalant in San Luis Obispo, CA, is hiring a Mobile Phlebotomist. You will travel within a 200-mile range to set up blood drives, greet donors, draw blood, and ensure donor records are accurate. Training is provided, and you’ll work with supportive managers to grow your career.

You’ll contribute to lifesaving blood services nationwide with measurable impact in the community and positive donor experiences during each donation drive.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to travel within the service area, including overnight stays.
• Flexible schedule, including weekends as needed.

Job Description:

We’re hiring immediately, and we will train you! Whether you are just starting your career, or have some phlebotomy experience, we’re here to help you leverage the extensive phlebotomy training provided, develop your talents, and perform at your best. Your impact as a Mobile Phlebotomist is vital. You will assist Vitalant’s donor care team in setting up blood drives at locations withing a 200-mile range while creating comfortable, convenient, and consistent blood donation experiences for our donors. Every day you will help save lives and have a vital impact on your community.

What to Expect

Salary: $21.00 to $22.30 per hour

Schedule: Tuesday - Monday

Start Date: 9/14/26

What You’ll Do

Most days you’ll conduct a blood drive in one of our buses; other days you’ll interact with donors at one of our local donation centers. Every day you will:

• Greet donors, keeping them comfortable and informed
• Perform blood draws (paid training provided)
• Manage accurate and organized donor information
• Receive coaching, encouragement, and support from caring managers who are invested your career and success
• Set up, operate, and break down equipment at mobile blood drives
• Package and transport blood products according to established procedures
