Overview
The Clinical Services Technician collects specimens from all age populations as assigned with minimal patient impact. Responsible for processing and allocating laboratory specimens and orders from all sources. Verifies proper patient and specimen identification, appropriateness of specimens, and accompanying orders. Organizes laboratory workflow, prioritizes processing and distribution of specimens, and utilizes equipment, instruments, and computer systems to test requests, accession, label, and deliver specimens within acceptable time frames. Performs specified procedures within the scope of established testing methods, documents routine maintenance and quality control procedures, troubleshoots equipment as needed, and performs other duties as assigned.
