Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) preferred or equivalent training.
• Previous phlebotomy or clinical experience preferred.
• Proficiency in venipuncture techniques, including difficult draws.
• Strong attention to detail and specimen integrity.
• Excellent interpersonal and patient communication skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws on patients of all ages with accuracy and care.
• Label, process, and prepare blood specimens for laboratory analysis.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sterile work environment per infection control standards.
• Verify patient identity and review test orders prior to collection.
• Document collection procedures and update patient records in the EHR system.
• Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients to reduce anxiety.
• Follow OSHA, HIPAA, and clinic safety and compliance protocols.
