Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a skilled Medical Lab Assistant to perform venipuncture, skin puncture, and point-of-care testing in an ambulatory setting in Mattoon, IL. You will verify patient identity, register patients, and enter lab orders into the system, ensuring accurate specimen labeling and processing.

The role requires BLS certification within 30 days and a high school diploma; day shift, Monday–Friday 8am–5pm, with every fifth Saturday.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification within 30 days through the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Ability to perform venipuncture and skin puncture.
• Ability to perform finger sticks, heel sticks, and blood cultures.
• Ability to perform point-of-care testing specimen processing and EKGs.
• Ability to register patients and enter lab orders into a laboratory computer system.
