Job summary

Tenet Healthcare is seeking a Laboratory Phlebotomist for the night shift. The role involves performing venous and capillary blood collection, ensuring proper labeling and specimen integrity, and supporting the clinical laboratory team in processing and clerical tasks.

Responsibilities include assisting in specimen analysis, stocking lab supplies, and performing other duties as required to maintain workflow and accuracy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Phlebotomy training sufficient to be CA certified.

Responsibilities

Performs venous and capillary phlebotomy and ensures specimen integrity; maintains specimen integrity and follows proper labeling protocols. Processes specimens. Additional responsibilities include assisting the Clinical Laboratory Scientists with the analysis of specimens, performs clerical functions and assists in stocking and maintaining laboratory supply inventory. Performs other duties as required.

EDUCATION:

HIGH SCHOOL OR EQUIVALENT Preferred

TRAINING: Phlebotomy training sufficient to be certified in the State of CA.

LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS: State of California Phlebotomist certification required. Healthcare Provider BLS required within 6 months of assuming position.

EXPERIENCE: 6 months phlebotomy experience or formal training; 1 year of experience preferred.
