Job summary

Ivinson Memorial Hospital in Laramie, WY is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our patient‑focused laboratory team. The role involves collecting specimens, labeling correctly, and performing blood cultures and glucose tolerance tests, while ensuring accurate data entry and timely reporting.

• Phlebotomist trainees will not exceed 24 months of employment without becoming ASCP certified.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate proper use of vacutainers and syringes depending on patient’s veins and placements of IVs, and a lancet in areas in which capillary action is best.
• Performs blood cultures and glucose tolerance tests and other specimen collections as ordered.
• Properly labels all specimens and requisitions.
• Utilizes computer systems for patient registration, lab test orders, receiving specimens and daily reports.
• Performs clerical duties for the Lab Manager and pathologists as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Base salary starts at $17.30/hr.

E X P E R I E N C E

• At least one (1) year experience preferred, unless currently certified by the ASCP or equivalent.

C R E D E N T I A L S

• Phlebotomist trainees will not exceed 24 months of employment without becoming ASCP certified after being eligible to take the certification exam.
