JOB PURPOSE AND REPORTING STRUCTURE:
Position Summary
The Phlebotomist plays a vital role in providing accessible and high-quality healthcare services to diverse and underserved populations. This position involves collecting blood samples from patients of all ages, ensuring proper handling and processing of specimens, and maintaining a compassionate and patient-centered approach. The Phlebotomist collaborates with medical staff to support diagnostic testing and public health initiatives while upholding safety and infection control standards. They are required to demonstrate strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and conscious adherence to infection control protocols.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Key Responsibilities:

Work in a self-directed manner, managing multiple projects and assignments simultaneously.
Possess a high level of confidentiality.
Serve as a provider representative for internal and external groups as assigned.
Attend and actively participate in scheduled internal meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS:
(Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
Experience: A minimum of 1 year of phlebotomy experience in a hospital setting is preferred. Experience working in a community health or public health setting is a plus.
Licenses/Certification: Certification in Phlebotomy – CPT I or CPT II.
Other skills and abilities: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with various patient populations. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. Working knowledge of electronic health records (EHR), lab information, and labeling systems.
