Labcorp in Gillespie, IL is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our team. The role involves blood collection by venipuncture and capillary techniques, specimen handling, and accurate data entry to support clinical testing.

  • Perform administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
  • Travel to additional sites when needed.

Job description

Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our team in Gillespie, IL.

Work Schedule: Monday - Thursday 7:15am-4:30pm, Friday 7am-12pm, with rotating Saturdays.

Job Responsibilities
  • Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
  • Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, etc.
  • Perform accurate and timely data entry of patient information.
  • Process billing information and collect payments as necessary.
  • Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis.
  • Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
  • Provide superior customer service to all patients.
  • Perform administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
  • Travel to additional sites when needed.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Phlebotomy certification or completed training program, or 3 months or more experience as a phlebotomist.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1 year or more of phlebotomy experience.
Job Standards
  • Phlebotomy certification must come from an accredited agency.
  • Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Comfortable working under minimal supervision.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
  • Ability to pass a standardized color‑blindness test.
