Job summary

Mercy Gilbert Medical Center is seeking a Phlebotomist to obtain and prepare specimens for analysis, supporting outpatient, inpatient, surgery, and emergency services. You will work under the Phlebotomy Supervisor and use a wireless handheld computer to ensure patient safety and accuracy.

The ideal candidate has completed an accredited phlebotomy program with national certification preferred, and previous health-related experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (CT CPRBLS).
• Preferred: Phlebotomy Cert.
• Preferred: Previous experience in a health-related field.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Phlebotomist, you will help the Laboratory obtain and/or prepare specimens for analysis so they can provide accurate laboratory services vital for outpatient, inpatient, surgery, and emergency department patients.

Every day you will work under the direct supervision of the Phlebotomy Supervisor, obtaining and/or preparing specimens for analysis. You will be expected to use a state-of-the-art wireless handheld computer to ensure patient safety and actively participate in fulfilling the Mission of Dignity Health.

To be successful in this role, you must be a dynamic Phlebotomist who is passionate about the health and well-being of our patients and have completed an accredited phlebotomy program (with national certification being preferred).
