As our most acute level of care, our specialty hospitals offer critical care similar to traditional hospitals or ICUs, but for an extended recovery period. Our clinicians play a vital role in recovering chronic, critically ill, and medically complex patients.

You will perform phlebotomy on patients using established laboratory procedures, process laboratory requisitions and specimens, perform record audits, and report to the Laboratory Manager.

Responsibilities:
  • Collect timed specimens, following guidelines for laboratory specimens, especially when timing is critical (e.g., therapeutic drug levels).
  • Record the collection time and initial, date, and properly complete laboratory requisitions and specimen tubes.
  • Follow all safety rules and report hazards to the Laboratory Supervisor.
  • Process incoming supplies properly.
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and stocked phlebotomy area; stock nursing units with laboratory supplies.
  • Keep blood drawing trays organized and available.
  • Perform additional duties such as data collection, filing, charging, and assisting technologists.
Qualifications:

Requires a High School diploma with six months of relevant experience or completion of the CLA training program.
