Health Advocates Network, Inc. in Fairton, NJ is seeking a compassionate Phlebotomist to support patient flow, perform specimen collection, and assist with lab processing in a clinical setting. This role requires NJ Medical Assistant certification and CPR certification, plus three references. Local pay is $22.00/hour with benefits after 60 days and access to CEUs and travel stipends. Shift is 7:00 am–3:30 pm, 40 hrs/week.

Qualifications

• Must have valid New Jersey Medical Assistant certification.
• CPR certification required.
• Provide resume and copies of all diplomas/certificates.
• Three letters of reference.
• Copy of PSV from licensing board if required.
• Copy of current required certifications and compliance documents (e.g., BLS, immunizations).

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians, PAs, and nurses with patient flow, vital signs, weight, and documentation.
• Schedule and perform laboratory testing, specimen collection, processing, and in-processing tasks.
• Properly package, transport, document, and track specimens per lab procedures.
• Ensure lab requests and reports are complete, returned, and communicated to providers.
• Maintain lab procedures, equipment, supplies, and records per CLIA and standards.
• Coordinate with BOP and reference labs and assist with CLIA recertification.

Shift Details

• 7:00 am-3:30 pm, with a 30 minute unpaid lunch period
• 40 hrs / week

Phlebotomist Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assist physicians, PAs, and nurses with patient flow, including vital signs, weight, and BEMR documentation.
• Schedule and perform laboratory testing, specimen collection, processing, and in-processing requirements, including DNA testing, vaccines, and PPD updates.
• Properly package, transport, document, and track specimens according to laboratory procedures.
• Ensure lab requests and reports are complete, returned, documented, filed/scanned, and communicated to providers.
• Maintain laboratory procedures, equipment, supplies, and required records in compliance with CLIA and applicable standards.
• Coordinate with BOP and contract reference laboratories and assist with CLIA recertification.
• Support implementation of laboratory policies and procedures while maintaining compliance with AAAHC standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Valid certification to practice in the state of New Jersey as a Medical Assistant, Laboratory Must be Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certified, in accordance with the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Shall provide a resume and requested documentation along with copy of all diplomas and/or certificates to support stated qualification.
• Three (3) letters of reference
• Additional certifications may be required.
• Copy of current, completedPrimary Source Verification (PSV) from the appropriate licensing board or verification agency, if required.
• Copy of all current required certifications and compliance documents (e.g., .BLS, N95 fit test, immunization records, TB test, or other client-specific requirements).
