Job summary

Iconma, LLC is seeking a Phlebotomist for our Fairbanks, AK client in the clinical laboratory field. The role involves collecting specimens, labeling, and ensuring proper handling according to procedures.

Candidates should have blood draw experience, familiarity with venipuncture techniques, and ability to follow physician orders and testing workflows. HS/GED required; pediatrics/geriatrics experience preferred.

Qualifications

• HS/GED required and preferred lab experience.
• Experience performing blood draws and labeling specimens.
• Able to follow physician orders and test workflows.
• Experience with centrifuging, specimen handling and data entry.

• Demonstrate technique using straight or butterfly needles.
• Understand all physicians' orders and match requisitions to tubes.

• Check test requisitions against scripts for accuracy.
• Package specimens for transport and store samples by required temperature.

Job description

Our client, a Clinical Laboratory company, is looking for a Phlebotomist for their Fairbanks, AK location.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in performing various assigned duties, trouble shooting, training and making workflow recommendations.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Properly explains in a clear but courteous manner the process of the venipuncture (blood drawing) and or other specimen collection (ex. urine or fecal) as required.
• Demonstrate technique/s using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Fully understand all of the physicians' orders.
• Matches laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
• Check all test requisitions or computer label against script to ensure 100% correct.
• Package specimens for transport.
• Stores specimen sample according to required temperature, places samples in

Requirements:

• Pedi and geri experience preferred
• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• HS/GED
