Job summary

Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, OH is seeking a Phlebotomist/Processor to collect, transport, and process laboratory specimens on full-time day, evening, or night shifts, with every other weekend and holiday rotations.

Shifts include a 15% differential for Early AM, Evening, Night, and Weekend hours. A High School diploma and some experience or training in phlebotomy or laboratory science are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and capillary punctures according to departmental procedures.
• Accurately label and prepare specimens for testing or transport.
• Complete requisitions and manage specimen receipt using computer systems.
• Deliver specimens to testing areas.
• Maintain equipment and assist with problem-solving related to patient draws and orders.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, corporate standards, and departmental policies.
• Conduct inventory checks, train new employees, and maintain a safe work environment.
• Other duties as assigned.

Full-Time Day Shift (4:30 AM-3:00 PM)

Full-Time Evening Shift (3:00 PM-11:30 PM)

Full-Time Night Shift (11:00 PM-7:30 AM)

Each Shift Includes an Every Other Weekend and Holiday Rotation. Early AM, Evening, Night, and Weekend Shifts Include a 15% Shift Differential.

Safety & Physical Demands

• Ability to walk 5-7 miles daily and stand for entire shift.
• Exposure to biohazard substances and hazardous chemicals.

• Compliance with PPE requirements in lab or biohazard areas.
• Completion of required safety training and health evaluations promptly.
• Proactive approach to identifying and addressing safety hazards, promoting safety awareness.
