The Opportunity

Responsible for the efficient and effective collection of plasma from donors by performing venipuncture, monitoring the pheresis process, and following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

You will report to the Assistant Center Manager.

The Role

1. Perform all aspects of the pheresis procedure and plasma collection, including donor set-up, monitoring, and disconnect, in compliance with SOPs.
2. Perform venipuncture on donors to initiate pheresis, adhering to SOPs and FDA guidelines.
3. Evaluate vein performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure donor safety and product quality.
4. Educate donors about the donation process, answer questions, and ensure a positive experience.
5. Monitor donors for reactions and assist or notify staff as needed.
6. Record incidents and donor data accurately using PDA and electronic systems.
7. Perform equipment calibrations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and create incident reports.
8. Monitor donor flow, collect samples, and ensure supplies are available.
9. Maintain confidentiality and a clean work environment, follow safety policies.
10. Possibly cross-train in other areas and utilize bilingual skills if required.
11. Perform other duties as assigned.

Your Skills and Experience

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience

• Minimum 12 months experience in a healthcare environment preferred or equivalent education and experience.

Working Conditions

• Ability to complete forms, communicate effectively, and observe equipment.
• Ability to stand, walk, reach, bend, kneel, lift up to 25 pounds, and work in a fast-paced environment with safety precautions.
• Exposure to chemicals, extreme temperatures, bloodborne pathogens; PPE required.
• Overtime and extended hours may be necessary.
