Job summary

Southeast Georgia Health Systems, Inc. is seeking a Phlebotomist to collect blood specimens from patients of all ages and transport them to the laboratory. You will ensure patient safety and comfort and provide compassionate care daily.

The role requires venipuncture and skin puncture procedures, accurate labeling, adherence to lab procedures, and proficiency with computer systems. Weekend and holiday hours may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Certification in Phlebotomy is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrating correct venipuncture and skin puncture procedures for patients of all ages.
• Accurately labeling tubes immediately after collection.
• Following laboratory procedures for specimen collection, labeling, handling, and transport.
• Demonstrating adequate understanding of proficiency in using the computer systems.
• Performing laboratory support functions as applicable.
• Assisting nursing units with specimen collection, transport, and needed supplies.
• Working flexible hours to include weekends and holidays.
