Job summary

Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley, WV is seeking a PRN Phlebotomist to join our patient-focused lab team. You will label, collect, and deliver specimens, maintain equipment, and support blood drives.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma (phlebotomy training preferred), BLS certification within 30 days of hire, and up to one year of related experience. We offer comprehensive benefits, tuition assistance, PTO, and career development opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred; approved phlebotomy training preferred.
  • Certifications: BLS to be obtained within 30 days of hire; ASCP or NHA certification preferred.
  • Experience: One year of phlebotomy experience preferred.
  • Licenses: Certification from ASCP or NHA preferred.

  • Labels, processes and delivers specimens for testing.
  • Collects blood specimens using age-appropriate techniques.
  • Maintains equipment and medical supplies.
  • Assists with coordinating and conducting blood drives, including interviewing and screening donors.

What we're looking for
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent Preferred; An approved nationally accredited training course in Phlebotomy Preferred
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) to be obtained within 30 days of hire
  • Experience: One year of experience preferred.
  • Licenses: Certification from ASCP or NHA Preferred
  • Required Skills: Familiarity with organization and functions of each hospital department Leadership ability, integrity, and initiative required. Ability to solve problems effectively and handle stress in a positive manner. Maintain harmonious relationships with nursing personnel, medical staff, hospital administration, and all hospital department.
