Job summary

Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley, WV seeks a Laboratory Supervisor to oversee daily operations, staffing, quality, and regulatory compliance. You will lead and train staff, review performance, and ensure timely service delivery within a fast-paced environment.

This role emphasizes staff development, problem resolution, and adherence to HIPAA and hospital policies while serving both internal teams and external clients with professionalism and integrity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Certifications: BLS to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Experience: One year of experience preferred.
• Licenses: ASCP or AMT preferred.
• Required Skills: Leadership, integrity, initiative; able to solve problems and handle stress; maintain harmonious relationships.

Responsibilities

• Directs staffing assignments; trains and mentors staff; participates in evaluations.
• Ensures service quality; develops staff programs; ensures policy compliance.
• Directs staff responsibilities as needed to meet service levels.
• Leads handling and resolution of complex issues and complaints.
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Serves internal staff and external customers, patients, clients, contractors and vendors.
• Access to confidential information and HIPAA compliance.
• Understand healthcare regulatory and compliance requirements (HIPAA).
• Applies policies and procedures effectively.
• Knowledge of Business Office Standards and Practices.
• Leads others performing similar work.
• May set priorities, schedule and review work; no hiring/termination decisions.

How you'll contribute

• Determines, coordinates and supervises daily staffing assignments and levels.
• Provides direction, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to staff. Performs or assists with performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.
• Assesses and ensures quality of services delivered and facilitates staff development programs. Ensures staff compliance with departmental and organizational policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Performs staff responsibilities as needed to fulfill required service levels.
• Leads the handling and resolution of complex issues and complaints.
• Regular and reliable attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Position serves both internal co-workers and external customers, clients, patients, contractors, and vendors.
• Access to and/or works with sensitive and/or confidential information.
• Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of healthcare regulatory and compliance (e.g., HIPAA).
• Skilled in the application of policies and procedures.

What we're looking for
