Job summary

CommonSpirit Health's Arroyo Grande Community Hospital seeks a Phlebotomist to obtain blood, urine, and cultures from patients ranging from newborn to geriatric, following established procedures and state/federal regulations.

Under direct supervision of a licensed technologist, you will perform clerical tasks and routine specimen testing, ensuring proper handling of specimens according to the phlebotomy manual and reference materials.

Qualifications

• State of California Phlebotomy Certificate (CT PHLEBOT) required.
• Current and valid CPR-AHA certification (CT CPRBLS) required.
• Ability to handle patient specimens per phlebotomy manual guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Obtain blood, urine, and culture specimens from patients from newborn to geriatric according to Arroyo Grande Community Hospital procedures and state/federal regulations.
• Perform clerical duties and routine specimen testing under direct supervision of a licensed technologist.
• Properly handle patient specimens following the phlebotomy manual guidelines and reference materials.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Phlebotomist, you will obtaining blood, urine, and culture specimens from patients ranging in age from newborn to geriatric, according to established procedures of Arroyo Grande Community Hospital and State and Federal Regulations. Performs clerical functions and routine repetitive specimen testing under direct supervision of a licensed technologist.

Every day you will perform clerical functions and routine repetitive specimen testing under direct supervision of a licensed technologist.

To be successful in this role, you must must be able to properly handle patient specimens as to the guidelines specified in the phlebotomy manual and our reference manuals.
