Job summary

UNT Dallas seeks a tenure-track Associate Professor of Philosophy and Interdisciplinary Studies to teach undergraduate courses and lead the creation of a Philosophy minor while developing interdisciplinary minors and certificate programs that leverage cross-campus strengths.

The successful candidate will advance strategic initiatives in teaching, scholarship, and service, mentoring students and contributing to institutional leadership across the UNT Dallas campus and the broader UNT System.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Philosophy or closely related discipline by start date.
• Evidence of sustained scholarly productivity and an ability to teach effectively.
• Experience with curriculum or program development.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate across disciplines.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Teach and develop undergraduate philosophy and interdisciplinary studies courses.
• Develop and advance a Philosophy minor and interdisciplinary minors/certificates.
• Lead curriculum development and contribute to program and department goals.
• Mentor students and participate in assessment, recruitment, and governance.
• Engage in scholarly activities appropriate to tenure-track rank.
