Job summary

Metropolitan Community College-Kansas City is seeking temporary faculty to deliver high-quality instruction across assigned courses. Instructors prepare syllabi, engage students, enter grades, and comply with credential requirements.

Responsibilities include meeting schedules, tracking attendance, and maintaining records per MCC policy. Temporary faculty may be assigned up to a limited number of work units per term.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Philosophy
• Master’s degree in any field with at least 18 graduate credit hours from Philosophy, Humanities, Epistemology and/or Law

Responsibilities

• Select and develop instructional materials; plan and organize instruction to enhance student learning
• Use varied engagement and assessment methods to facilitate mastery of learning outcomes
• Provide constructive feedback to students
• Evaluate student learning and adjust instructional methods as needed
• Meet classes as scheduled and notify if absent in advance
• Maintain accurate records of grades and attendance
• Ensure confidentiality of student records
• Complete required trainings and uphold college policies
• Perform other duties as assigned
