Job summary

Southwest Tennessee Community College invites applications for a part-time Adjunct Faculty position in the Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences. The Adjunct Instructor will prepare, present, and evaluate Philosophy instruction across campus locations, with development of syllabi, assignments, and course materials.

Minimum qualifications include a Master’s degree in the teaching discipline (or 18 graduate hours) and 2 years of higher education teaching experience.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in the teaching discipline or master’s degree in another discipline with 18 hours of graduate work in the teaching discipline.
• Minimum two (2) years teaching experience in higher education or one (1) year teaching experience and three (3) years employment in the field.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver instruction on Philosophy topics.
• Grade and provide feedback on students’ work.
• Develop curricula and instructional materials.
• Maintain office hours and assist in recruitment and retention.
• Comply with FERPA and keep accurate records.
• Attend faculty and department meetings and professional development.
• Engage in departmental and college committees and community outreach.
