Job summary

Colorado Technical University (CTU) is seeking an adjunct faculty member to deliver courses and engage student learners across disciplines. The role emphasizes timely feedback, student accessibility, and alignment with CTU curricula and teaching methods.

The position offers a flexible, part-time framework with compensation based on quarter-hour increments. Candidates should demonstrate strong organizational skills and professional experience in their field.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Philosophy, Ethics, Theory or Logic (Philosophical), Humanities, Religion, Divinity, or subfield; or out of field graduate degree with 18+ graduate semester hours in field/subfield; or out of field graduate degree with 5+ years' documented professional experience in field/subfield.
• Doctorate preferred for advanced teaching with 3+ years’ experience teaching adult, non-traditional, and Active Duty Military/Veteran learners in higher education settings.

Responsibilities

• Prepare relevant, insightful instructional materials and utilize existing course materials that support learning by CTU's student population.
• Provide instruction in assigned courses aligning with CTU curricula, outcomes, modalities, and technology.
• Engage and communicate with students to encourage participation and learning with professionalism.
• Relate professional/industry experience to CTU's Professional Learning Model and stay aware of trends.
• Maintain accessibility and provide timely responsiveness to students, faculty leadership, and staff.
• Establish and maintain weekly office hours for student questions and support.
• Assess student performance and provide feedback to support growth.
• Maintain documentation of student course activities.
• Collaborate with CTU teams to identify and support students in need.
• Refer students to co-curricular and extra-curricular resources.
• Participate in CTU governance and institutional assessment processes.
• Complete required new faculty certification and ongoing training.
• Provide documentation of licensures, certifications, immunizations, and academic/experience updates.
• Work with Program Chair/Lead Faculty as appropriate.
• Adhere to CTU Faculty Handbook policies and procedures.
