Job summary

Harrisburg Area Community College (HACC) seeks adjunct instructors to teach on a semester basis in Pennsylvania. You will provide instruction and student support, develop instructional methods, and ensure alignment with learning outcomes and catalog descriptions.

Minimum qualifications include a Master's in Philosophy or related field with relevant coursework; higher education teaching experience is preferred. The role requires PA Act 15 compliance and adherence to college policies.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Philosophy or related field with graduate coursework in the content area.
• Higher education teaching experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participate in faculty orientation and required department meetings and trainings.
• Prepare course materials and prescribed assessments aligned to course learning outcomes and department practice.
• Submit syllabi to department chair/designee for review and deadlines.
• Attend all scheduled classes and examinations on time and maintain class during assigned times.
• Record attendance, midterm and final grades within established deadlines.
• Maintain office hours equal to one hour per week per three credit course.
• Participate in assessment processes to improve student learning and provide artifacts if requested.
• Access HACC email and respond within 2 business days.
• Participate in evaluation processes and class observation procedures.
• Adhere to attendance reporting/recording requirements and leave forms.
• Comply with ADA/Section 504, Title IX, Harassment policies and code of conduct.
• Remain active in class for the full term and inform the School Dean if absent.
• Other duties as assigned.
