Job summary

Philly PR Girl is seeking a dynamic PR Coordinator to join our in-house team in Center City, Philadelphia. You will craft compelling press materials, build media lists, and secure local coverage across TV, print, digital, and radio.

You’ll manage multiple clients with strong attention to deadlines, mentor junior staff, assist with events, and collaborate with digital, social, and events teams to ensure cohesive messaging for campaigns across the city.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or related field.
• 1–3 years of public relations experience (agency experience and Philadelphia market preferred).
• Proven ability to secure local media coverage.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple clients.
• Experience supporting or executing events is a plus.
• Familiarity with social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, X/Twitter, TikTok).
• Self-starter with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

• Writing and editing press releases, media alerts, pitches, and client communications
• Building and maintaining targeted media lists across local and regional outlets
• Proactively pitching stories and securing earned media coverage (TV, print, digital, radio)
• Assisting in the management of multiple client accounts with strong attention to detail and deadlines
• Supporting and mentoring junior team members or interns
• Assisting with event planning, media outreach, and on-site coordination
• Collaborating with internal teams (digital, social, events) to ensure cohesive messaging
• Monitoring media coverage and providing client reporting and recaps
• Staying up to date on Philadelphia news, trends, and media opportunities
