Job summary

St. Louis Jewish Community Center (The J) in St. Louis, MO seeks an Associate Director, J Philanthropy to lead philanthropy operations, manage staff, and drive annual giving, capital campaigns, and planned giving initiatives.

The role reports to the Chief Philanthropy Officer and collaborates across the philanthropy team and with senior leadership. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree, 5+ years in nonprofit fundraising/operations, strong project management and communications skills,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• At least five years of progressively responsible nonprofit operations and fundraising experience.
• Experience supervising staff and coordinating cross-functional teams.
• Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving and process-improvement skills.
• Experience with donor databases and fundraising reporting systems (Salesforce preferred).
• Ability to develop work plans, track progress and communicate results clearly.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Philanthropy Operations Manager and Grants Associate.
• Directly manage department budget and coordinate with Chief Philanthropy Officer on revenue.
• Collaborate with CEO to manage donor portfolios and moves management.
• Grow annual giving society and coordinate with Events Manager on stewardship opportunities.
• Oversee capital and endowment campaign management and day-to-day project activities.
• Develop and execute a strategic planned giving program and policies.
