Job summary

Qualifications

  • Digital literacy with experience in Microsoft Office Suite and online research.
  • Experience with nonprofit fundraising software and donor relationship management systems.

Responsibilities

  • Steward the Full Table Club mid-level donor giving group with personalized communications and relationship-building activities.
  • Conduct prospect research to identify donor capacity, inclination, and interests.
  • Develop and maintain a portfolio of current and prospective mid-level donors through various cultivation strategies.
  • Partner to develop donor cultivation events to strengthen relationships and opportunities for future giving.

JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsible for planning, implementing, goal setting, strategy development, and evaluation of annual fundraising programs targeting mid-level supporters of Harvesters. This position focuses on building and stewarding a strong pipeline of donors, managing the midlevel donors in Full Table Club, identifying donor upgrade opportunities through prospect research and wealth analysis, and implementing strategies to increase donor retention, engagement, and giving. This position meets the requirements and may be considered hybrid eligible.

Primary Duties
  • Build a broad base of support by implementing fundraising strategies to acquire, cultivate, renew, and increase support from mid-level donors through direct marketing, online giving, portfolio management, and other marketing and solicitation strategies.
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate mid-level fundraising programs, including renewal mailings, acquisition mailings, targeted donor communications, and stewardship initiatives in partnership with the Senior Manager of Philanthropy - Annual Giving.
  • Steward the Full Table Club mid-level donor giving group, including personalized communications and relationship-building activities and developing strategies to strengthen engagement and increase membership growth.
  • Conduct prospect research and donor identification using Windfall Wealth Analysis, Raiser's Edge NXT ResearchPoint, and other available tools to identify donor capacity, inclination, and philanthropic interests.
  • Develop and maintain a portfolio of current and prospective mid-level donors through phone calls, personal visits, written communications, and other cultivation strategies designed to deepen donor engagement and increase giving.
  • Partner with the Special Giving Groups Manager to develop and execute at least two donor cultivation events annually designed to strengthen donor relationships, increase engagement, and identify future giving opportunities.

  • This position functions in an office environment and requires local travel within the service area. It requires the use of standard office equipment, including computers, copiers, and automobiles.
  • Some evening hours are required to accommodate donor meetings and cultivation activities.
  • Incumbent will spend approximately 80% of the time working at a computer workstation and 20% traveling, speaking with donors, conducting donor visits, or attending meetings.
  • This position requires an understanding of all Harvesters food safety policies and compliance with all food safety-related procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Experience
  • Minimum 3-5 years of fund development experience using a variety of donor cultivation, stewardship, and solicitation techniques.
  • Digital literacy with experience in Microsoft Office Suite, internet research, and fundraising databases.
  • Experience with nonprofit fundraising software and donor relationship management systems.
Preferred Experience
  • 5+ years of documented fundraising success.
  • Working knowledge of Raiser's Edge NXT and ResearchPoint or similar CRM and prospect research tools.
  • Experience utilizing Windfall Wealth Analysis or other wealth-screening platforms for prospect identification and qualification.
  • Knowledge of the greater Kansas City area's philanthropic community.
  • Knowledge of the food banking industry.
Required Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in business, English, marketing, communications, nonprofit management, or a related field; or equivalent of a minimum of 4 years of experience in this area of work.
Preferred Education
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Nonprofit Management or a related field.
