Capital Camps & Retreat Center seeks a creative, organized Philanthropy & Community Engagement Associate to strengthen Jewish community, expand access to camp, and grow engagement with families, alumni, and supporters.

You’ll blend fundraising, communications, events, and relationship management to advance campaigns, steward donors, and build alumni engagement for CCRC’s 40th anniversary. Based in Maryland with camps in PA, you’ll join a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 1–3 years preferred in nonprofit, communications, fundraising, marketing, events, education or related.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Organized and detail‑oriented; comfortable learning new systems.
• Experience with Canva/social/email a plus; experience with Raiser’s Edge or CRM helpful; interest in nonprofit leadership, philanthropy, and Jewish community building.

Capital Camps & Retreat Center is seeking a creative, organized, and relationship-driven Philanthropy & Community Engagement Associate to help strengthen Jewish community, expand access to camp, and grow meaningful engagement with families, alumni, and supporters. This is an ideal opportunity for an early-career professional looking to build experience in fundraising, communications, events, community engagement, nonprofit leadership, and relationship management while making a real impact.

What You’ll Do:

Combine fundraising, communications, events, relationship-building, and project management. Community Engagement & Fundraising: help execute fundraising campaigns and community engagement initiatives; support donor, parent, alumni, and community outreach; assist with stewardship and relationship-building; support peer-to-peer fundraising and volunteer engagement; create meaningful donor experiences and personalized communications; spearhead a new alumni engagement initiative for CCRC’s 40th anniversary. Communications & Storytelling: draft emails, social media, acknowledgements, and campaign materials; partner with marketing; maintain consistent messaging; support alumni engagement and special campaigns. Events & Experiences: assist with donor events, alumni gatherings, and summer camp visits; coordinate logistics and follow-up; create welcoming experiences. Operations & Organization: maintain Raiser’s Edge records; process gifts and acknowledgements; prepare reports and campaign tracking; ensure systems and projects run smoothly. Growth & Collaboration: work closely with leadership; contribute ideas; participate in special projects; grow professionally within a collaborative team.

Work Environment & Schedule:

Based in Rockville, Maryland (Monday–Friday) Sept–May; approximately 3–4 days/week at camp in Waynesboro, PA during the summer; occasional evenings/weekends.

Compensation & Benefits:

Salary $48,000–$52,000; comprehensive benefits; 403(b) with match; paid vacation, sick leave, and holidays; professional development; camp tuition discounts; room and board provided during summer while working on Waynesboro campus.
