Job summary

The Children’s Center Utah is seeking a part-time Philanthropy Assistant to support major gifts and philanthropic partnerships efforts. You will help maintain a donor pipeline, organize portfolios, and produce reports to guide donor strategy.

Responsibilities include CRM data entry, prospect research, meeting briefs, donor communications, and coordination of donor events. The role requires strong organization, communication, and a willingness to learn Raiser's Edge NXT.

Qualifications

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • Two+ years in administrative, donor/fundraising, or CRM roles preferred.
  • Experience with a CRM/donor database required; Raiser’s Edge NXT preferred.
  • Strong Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint skills.
  • Willingness to learn fundraising operations and donor research tools.

Responsibilities

  • Support major gifts and capital campaign portfolios and donor strategy.
  • Maintain accurate tracking of prospects, stages, and next steps in the CRM.
  • Prepare pipeline reports, donor meetings briefs, and fundraising updates.
  • Coordinate donor meetings, events, and engagement activities.
  • Assist with donor correspondence, proposals, and stewardship materials.
  • Provide project support and collaborate with the Development team.

Are you ready to join a top-notch team committed to changing the lives of young children and their caregivers? The Children’s Center Utah has an opening for a part-time Philanthropy Assistant to join our Development team.

The Philanthropy Assistant provides administrative, data, and operational support for The Children’s Center Utah’s major gifts and philanthropic partnerships efforts. Reporting to the Director, Philanthropic Partnerships, this position helps maintain an organized, accurate, and actionable major gifts and capital campaign pipeline and provides the information, materials, and administrative support needed to cultivate and steward donor relationships effectively.

  • Assist the Director, Philanthropic Partnerships and Philanthropy Manager with monitoring and organizing the major gifts and capital campaign portfolios.
  • Maintain accurate tracking of major gift and capital campaign prospects, opportunities, stages, next steps, and related activity in Raiser’s Edge NXT.
  • Prepare regular pipeline reports, prospect lists, portfolio reports, and fundraising updates to support donor strategy and portfolio review.
  • Track follow-up activities and next steps resulting from donor meetings, prospect strategy discussions, and portfolio reviews, including documentation of contact reports, correspondence, next steps, and internal assignments.
  • Help ensure donor and prospect information is current, accurate, and consistently documented.
  • Support preparation of fundraising updates and reports for organizational leadership, board members, campaign leadership, and committees as needed.
  • Conduct basic prospect and donor research using Raiser’s Edge NXT and compile relevant information to support cultivation and solicitation strategies.
  • Coordinate scheduling and logistics for donor meetings, cultivation visits and events, tours, and other philanthropic engagement activities.
  • Prepare donor meeting briefings, agendas, background materials, giving histories, research profiles, and other materials as requested.
  • Assist with the preparation and organization of donor correspondence, stewardship materials, proposals, presentations, and other fundraising materials.
  • Provide administrative and project support to the Director, Philanthropic Partnerships and collaborate closely with the Philanthropy Manager and other Development team members.
  • Assist with special projects that strengthen major gifts, campaign fundraising, donor stewardship, and overall philanthropy operations.
  • As a member of the Development team, support events and other development activities.

  • You are highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to maintain accurate records and keep multiple priorities, deadlines, and requests moving forward.
  • You are a strong written and verbal communicator who can prepare professional materials and communicate effectively with donors, colleagues, organizational leaders, and other stakeholders.
  • You are comfortable working with data and technology, exercise sound judgment with confidential information, and are interested in developing expertise in Raiser’s Edge NXT, prospect research, and fundraising operations.
Requirements
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Two or more years of administrative, database, customer relationship management, nonprofit, fundraising, or related experience preferred.
  • Experience working with a CRM, donor database, or similar information management system required.
  • Experience with Raiser’s Edge NXT preferred.
  • Experience with prospect research or wealth screening tools helpful.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Comfort working in CRM/database systems and demonstrated ability to learn new technology and systems quickly.
  • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and requests.
  • Ability to travel local and work occasional evenings or weekends to support donor cultivation activities and events.
