Job summary

Hoyleton Youth and Family Services seeks a Development Coordinator to advance fundraising and engagement across campaigns, donor stewardship, and community outreach with churches, schools, and partner organizations. Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

This position plays a key role in advancing the organization’s fundraising and engagement efforts by supporting a wide range of initiatives, including project coordination and capital campaign activities, corporate relations, event sponsorships, and peer-to-peer fundraising.

This position is responsible for strengthening donor relationships through thoughtful stewardship, coordination of community outreach and presentations across churches, schools, and community organizations, and helping plan and execute meaningful donor recognition events.

The Coordinator works collaboratively across teams to ensure a seamless and engaging experience for donors, partners, and community stakeholders while supporting overall development goals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Track campaign pledges, donor engagement activity, and progress toward fundraising goals.
  • Maintain accurate records of donor interactions, commitments, and campaign participation within the donor database (Salesforce).
  • Monitor giving trends, campaign metrics, and engagement indicators to help identify opportunities for deeper donor relationships.
  • Serve as a data and insight resource for the Director of Philanthropy and CEO/President to inform donor cultivation and solicitation strategies.
  • Prepare donor profiles, research summaries, and briefing materials to support strategic meetings and major gift conversations.
  • Identify potential major gift prospects based on giving history, engagement level, and philanthropic indicators.
  • Support donor stewardship efforts by coordinating timely follow-up, acknowledgement, pledge reminders, and ongoing donor communications.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive donor stewardship strategy, including personalized acknowledgements, impact reporting, and engagement initiatives to strengthen donor relationships and increase giving.
  • Maintain accurate donor records in CRM, track interactions, and identify opportunities for deeper engagement and donor upgrades.
  • Plan and execute donor and partner recognition events, including invite segmentation, event logistics, meaningful recognition, and post-event evaluation.
  • Assist with preparation of campaign updates, impact reports, and progress communications for donors and stakeholders.
  • Help track and communicate campaign milestones and successes.
  • Identify, cultivate, and manage corporate partners by developing customized sponsorship proposals, coordinating employee engagement opportunities, and tracking/reporting on partnership impact.
  • Secure and manage event sponsors by developing sponsorship packages, maintaining ongoing communication, ensuring fulfilment of all deliverables, and collaborating with internal teams to align sponsorship strategy with event goals.
  • Lead peer-to-peer fundraising campaigns by planning and executing initiatives, recruiting and supporting participants, developing resources and messaging, monitoring performance, and optimizing results for future growth.
  • Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
  • Experience working with donor databases and managing fundraising data.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize workload.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently while collaborating with a team.
  • Ability to analyze data and translate information into meaningful insights for strategy development.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, communications, business, marketing, public relations, or a related field required.
  • Three years of experience in fundraising, nonprofit administration, project coordination, donor relations, or a related field preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience may be considered.
  • Experience working with donor databases and managing fundraising data preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS

This position operates in a professional office environment and may require travel to agency sites, client locations, and partner organizations based on role responsibilities.

The role involves periods of walking, standing, or sitting, and may occasionally require climbing stairs, bending, kneeling, or lifting materials up to 50 pounds, depending on job duties.

Minimal exposure to environmental factors such as noise, dust, or varying indoor/outdoor temperatures may occur depending on program needs and client-related activities.
