Job summary

Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP seeks a midlevel associate with 3–5 years of large law firm experience to join our global energy and infrastructure practice in Philadelphia.

The successful candidate will handle energy regulatory matters, including involvement before state public utility commissions and FERC, and participate in energy transactional work such as drafting PPAs, VPPAs, and EPC agreements. Prior litigation or administrative law exposure is a plus.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of large law firm experience
• Experience with energy regulatory and transactional matters preferred
• Active Pennsylvania Bar membership required and relocate to Philadelphia

Responsibilities

• Represent clients in energy regulatory matters before state PUCs or FERC, including ratemaking and investigations
• Draft and negotiate energy-related commercial agreements (PPAs, VPPAs, EPCs) for energy projects
• Support energy litigation or administrative law needs as applicable to matters
• Position based in Philadelphia and eligible for on-site work

Job description

Seeking a midlevel associate with three to five years of large law firm experience to join our global energy and infrastructure practice. The successful applicant will possess experience with energy regulatory matters. Energy transactional experience is a plus. Regulatory experience may include representing clients in matters before state public utility commissions or the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, including in ratemaking proceedings, commission investigations, complaint proceedings, rulemakings, and other commission-initiated policy proceedings. Transactional experience may include drafting and negotiating commercial agreements supporting energy projects, such as power purchase agreements, virtual power purchase agreements, and engineering, procurement, and construction agreements. Relevant litigation or administrative law experience is preferred. This position will be resident in Philadelphia. Active Pennsylvania Bar membership is required.
