Job summary

CSL Vifor in Medina, Ohio seeks a Pheresis Support Technician to prepare the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process, and to ready the autopheresis machine for operation.

The role involves monitoring the donor and process, responding to alarms, recording incidents with the PDA, maintaining accurate donor data in the system, and upholding HSE and OSHA policies. Cross-training and bilingual skills may be requested to meet business needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three (3) months’ work experience, preferably in medical or health provider environment or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations

Responsibilities

• Prepare the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Prepare the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitor the donor and pheresis process and respond to alarms or signals during the process.
• Disconnect the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintain alertness to donor reactions and notify appropriate staff.
• Record incidents and donor data using the PDA.
• Link equipment and supplies used to the donor in the system.
• Alert supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Ensure accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system per SOPs.
• Understand policies related to hyper immune programs at the center if applicable.
• Maintain a clean, efficient work environment and ensure sufficient operating supplies and forms.
• Follow HSE and OSHA policies and promote safety.
• Maintain confidentiality of all personnel, donor and center information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas to meet business needs.
• Bilingual skills may be required, at the discretion of the organization.
• Perform job-related duties as assigned.
