The Allen Institute for AI (Ai2) in Seattle is seeking PhD-focused research interns for the Asta Project. This 12-week program offers hands-on research in AI, NLP, HCI, and science AI, with mentors from Ai2 across NLP, ML, and IR.

Interns collaborate on cutting-edge AI problems, publish papers, and gain experience building research prototypes using PyTorch, React/TypeScript, and agentic frameworks. On-site work in Seattle with compensation based on degree level.

Qualifications

• PhD student with a strong research background and publications in AI venues.
• Strong software engineering skills with experience in system building or DL frameworks (PyTorch) or agentic frameworks (Autogen).

Responsibilities

• Conduct high-impact research and publish scientific papers.
• Collaborate with Ai2 mentor and team members across Ai2.
