You will collaborate with R&D, Brand, and Product Development teams, work from May to August 2027, and contribute to models that can impact how people move and interact

Qualifications

• Working towards a PhD in CS/EE/BE/Robotics/Applied Math/Stats/Physics with ML focus.
• Research in ML for time-series data, HAR, wearable sensing, pose estimation, or multi-modal sensor fusion.
• Strong Python and hands-on experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• 12-week internship May–Aug 2027; in-person; Mason center five days a week.

Responsibilities

• Review state of the art in full-body motion reconstruction from wearable sensors.
• Determine optimal sensor configurations for motion reconstruction tasks.
• Design, build, and refine deep learning models that map IMU/EMG signals to full-body motion.
• Evaluate models on public/internal datasets and analyze assumptions and failure modes.
• Deliver a production-ready tool for uploading recordings, running inference, and visualizing results.
