Job summary

Walla Walla Nursery Co is seeking a Phase II Supervisor to lead the rooting and establishment of cuttings and TC plants through weaning and transfer to Phase III. You will work with the WA Grow Manager to develop propagations plans, control rooting environments, and coordinate move to finishing areas.

The role requires strong communication, basic computer skills, and the ability to manage time and details accurately.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills and strong math skills.
  • Horticulture knowledge is a plus but not required.
  • Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks.
  • Self-motivated with attention to detail and adaptability.

Responsibilities

  • Develops grow plans in collaboration with WA Grow Manager and Assistant Grow Manager.
  • Controls rooting environments and optimizes humidity, temperature, light, and soil moisture to minimize stress and hasten rooting.
  • Monitors plant health, applies nutrients and irrigation as crops establish and wean.
  • Identifies optimum rooting environments and groups species accordingly.
  • Uses automation (iGrow, fog, vents) and ensures systems are functioning properly.
  • Maintains sanitation and weed-free propagation areas; removes dead cuttings daily.
  • Trains backup staff to ensure continuity of plant environments across shifts.
  • Works weekends on rotation for watering duties.
