Job summary

Hy-Vee is seeking a Registered Pharmacist to join our Pharmacy Department. You'll fill and verify prescriptions, counsel patients, support the pharmacy team, and participate in wellness programs and community outreach.

We require a pharmacy degree and licensure, and you must maintain continuing education to keep your license active; immunizations certification is a plus. You will work in a fast-paced retail setting, upholding HIPAA and Hy-Vee policies while delivering exceptional service.

Qualifications

• College degree and licensure in pharmacy required; must maintain continuing education to keep license active
• 6 months to 1 year of similar or related work experience required
• Medication Therapy Management (MTM) preferred
• Ability to administer immunizations required

Responsibilities

• Fill and verify prescriptions and counsel patients in accordance with OBRA '90 regulations and all state and federal statutes and regulations
• Assist with controlled substance inventory on an annual basis or as recommended
• Assist with inventory control including ordering, stocking merchandise, checking invoices, and entering inventory information
• Assist with reconciliation and balancing of third-party accounts and monthly inventory
• Coach, counsel, and train pharmacy employees and participate in additional education and training
• Visit schools, doctor's offices, and senior centers to market pharmacy services
• Build growth and sales through counseling and wellness programs
• Follow security and regulatory procedures including Quality Assurance Programs
• Assume responsibility for the department in the absence of the Pharmacy Manager
• Communicate continually with the Pharmacy Manager about procedural changes, issues, or corporate communications
• Administer immunizations as certified
• Maintain the confidentiality of customers' private medical information and prescription drug pricing in accordance with HIPAA
• Adhere to all Hy-Vee policies, store guidelines, and all statutes and regulations pertaining to a registered pharmacist
