Job summary

Ethos Veterinary Health seeks a Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT/RVT/LVT) to join the Virginia Veterinary Centers pharmacy team in Short Pump, VA. The role focuses on advanced medication preparation, verification, and documentation, with a pay rate of $27/hr and full‑time 4x10s schedule.

The LVT will handle controlled substances, dosing calculations, and regulatory compliance, contributing to safe, organized drug use and patient care in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• CVT/RVT/LVT with active licensure.
• Emergency or specialty experience required.
• Strong technical and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced veterinary environment.
• 1–2 years of veterinary clinic, emergency, specialty, hospital, or pharmacy experience preferred.
• Experience with controlled-substance records and medication inventory preferred.

Responsibilities

• Medication Preparation and Verification
• Verify patient information, medication orders, dosing calculations, concentrations, quantities, and administration instructions prior to preparation or dispensing.
• Prepare medications, including reconstitution, dilution, injectable medications, and constant-rate infusions.
• Perform appropriate double-checks for high-risk, controlled, or complex medications.
• Maintain accurate medication documentation and labeling within hospital systems.
• Report medication discrepancies, errors, or concerns to supervision.
• Support pharmacy quality assurance and documentation practices.
