Vantage Search Group is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Anchorage, AK. The role includes dispensing outpatient prescriptions, filling orders, and entering data into databases.

Qualifications include ASHP-accredited training or a formal program, at least 1 year of post-grad experience, PTCB certification, and current BLS. A background check is required, with a $1,000 sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

Completion of ASHP-accredited technician program or formal pharmacy technician program or US Military training.
Minimum of 1 year of recent post-grad experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
Certified by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
Current AHA or ARC BLS Healthcare Provider certification.

Responsibilities

Dispense outpatient prescriptions and fill orders.
Enter orders into databases and support new/refill prescriptions.
Consult with patients and staff, monitor drug interactions, and report adverse reactions.
Perform quality checks: drug storage inspection, expired supplies review, and reporting.
Place new orders, stock shelves, maintain inventory, and generate not-in-stock reports.

Job description

We have a new need for a Pharmacy Technician at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Anchorage, AK.

The duties for the employee are as follows but not limited to:

Perform a full range of pharmacy technician procedures.
Perform pharmaceutical dispensing duties including filling new outpatient prescriptions, refilling prescriptions, and entering orders into databases.
Perform information consultation duties including supporting new and refill prescriptions, supporting patient requests, supporting physician’s requests, monitoring for drug interactions, and reporting adverse drug reactions.
Perform quality improvement duties including performing drug storage inspection, reviewing expired supplies, and producing error and workload reports and documentation.
Perform supply process duties including placing new orders, stocking/restocking shelves, inventory maintenance, producing not in stock reports.

Schedule:

Monday - Friday, between the hours of 7:30am and 4:30pm, to include a one-hour lunch break. Inpatient wards, Emergency Room, and ancillary areas operate on a 24/7 basis.

No Weekends, No Holidays

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

Formal Pharmacy Technician program accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) or a formal pharmacy technician program (i.e., technical, hospital, or retail-based program) or a formal medical services training program of the United States Military.

Experience:

Must have a minimum of 1 year of recent full-time post-grad experience as an Pharmacy Technician

Certification:

Certified by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB)

Life Support Certification:

Current AHA or ARC BLS Healthcare Provider certification.

Security:

Must possess ability to pass a Government background check/security clearance.
