Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Familiarity with medical/pharmaceutical terminology is required.
• Familiarity with health-care tools and systems (PCs, spreadsheets, word processing, patient records systems, EMR) is required.
• Current Pharmacy Technician Trainee registration with Texas State Board of Pharmacy is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Pharmacist in dispensing medications and perform quality control/inventory functions.
• Prepare prescription medications for delivery to patients.
• Enter prescription and patient information into the pharmacy database and verify patient eligibility for pharmacy benefits.
• Communicate with patients regarding prescriptions and provide additional information as needed.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards, Joint Commission and CommUnityCare policies.
