UVA Health in Charlottesville, VA invites you to join the Pharmacy Technician Trainee program as part of the Pharmacy Technician University (PTU). This paid, structured training blends hands-on practice with formal coursework and dedicated preceptors to prepare you for certification and licensure.

As a trainee, you will assist pharmacists, learn workflows, and gain real-world experience while advancing through the PTU curriculum. No extensive pharmacy experience is required.

Competenze

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• No experience required.
• Registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the Virginia Board of Pharmacy within 2 years of hire.
• Must register as Pharmacy Technician Trainee upon hire with the Virginia Board of Pharmacy.
• Persons enrolled in a pharmacy technician training program must obtain a pharmacy technician trainee registration if they will be performing the duties of a pharmacy technician.

• Assisting pharmacists with the preparation, dispensing, and management of medications.
• Learning pharmacy workflows, medication distribution processes, and operational procedures.
• Supporting inventory management and medication stocking activities.
• Maintaining accurate records and documentation.
• Participating in department orientation, training activities, and practical skill development.
• Completing online educational modules focused on pharmacy fundamentals.
• Performing simulations, role-playing exercises, knowledge assessments, and competency validations.
