Job summary

SpecialtyRx, Inc. in Roanoke, VA is seeking an entry-level Pharmacy Technician Trainee. No experience required; you will work under a supervisor to learn filling, stocking, and shipping medications for long-term care facilities.

You'll obtain a Virginia Pharmacy Technician Trainee license and enroll in VA-approved PTCB courses while contributing to accuracy, policy adherence, and patient safety on eight-hour shifts, including evenings and weekends. Competitive benefits offered.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Licensed Virginia Pharmacy Technician trainee (required).
• Enroll into VA approved PTCB program.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Reliable and able to execute multiple assigned tasks.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to physically perform light lifting.

Responsibilities

• Work under the direction of a supervisor.
• Experience working in a Controlled Drugs (Narcotics) room a plus.
• Maintain floor stock, including restocking and removal of expired medications.
• Rotate medication stock to ensure quality control standards.
• Prepack bulk medications prescribed for floor stock.
• Package, fill, and ship medications accurately.
• Maintain pharmacy standards and adhere to all policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with team members to support pharmacy goals.
• Complete additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

• 8-hour shifts, Monday–Friday and every other weekend.
• Available shifts include:
  • 2:30pm-9:00pm
  • 6:00pm–2:30am
