Job summary

Dolly Parton Children's Hospital is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for a 13-week temporary assignment. You will support pharmacists by preparing medications, maintaining stock, and handling records under direct supervision. Eligible for overtime and shift differentials; a 40-hour week is required.

Required: high school diploma or GED, TN Board registration within 90 days, and CPhT certification with hospital pharmacy experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Basic computer and typing skills required.
• Knowledge of medication handling and dosage basics preferred.
• Registration with the TN Board of Pharmacy within 90 days of employment required.

Responsibilities

• Under pharmacist supervision, prepare medications for dispensing.
• Maintain medication stock, records and logs.
• Assist with billing, reconciliation, and unit-dose labeling.
• Restock and manage medication inventory and supplies.
• Communicate with pharmacy staff to ensure accuracy and safety.

Education

High school diploma or GED

TN Board of Pharmacy registration

CPhT certification

12 months hospital pharmacy experience
